You said VV has never been for you, yet you were asking for advice as to whether you should buy a studio on Raphis at a certain price. The only reason that you posted that was to highlight the price.

Utter bull and you know it... I enquired about that Studio, at that time to purely rent out ! However at that time someone was mailing me about "NOT getting the owed Rent from Tecnicil" So that or any other property I was enquiring about never got any further ! From then, it's gone downhill...

Who on earth would do any of the things you mention when you see the whole place on a downhill spiral ? The place is a hell of a lot different from when the big developments were there, in a very negative way too... I don't suppose you've seen the rubbish mounds just outside Santa Maria ? All Italian printed stuff !

Granted it's got new roads and infrastructure, but look closely at it ! It's with heavily borrowed money, and not really being used ? Why build such a big main road ? We sat enjoying a coffee/beer or two and just 2 cars passed in an hour ?

The whole island is on a downward spiral, where it stops, no one knows, but one thing is for sure, it's going to have to pay back all this debt ! When all the fish is gone, what then for the locals ? It may well go back to 3rd world status !!!

Not sure it can be described as being on a downward spiral when more flights than ever are heading there.

Last week the beach in Santamaria was fairly busy considering it's low season.

I waited for two minutes on that road for a taxi and more than two cars passed. I had been to the beach behind the Djadsal, stunning!

In the last 24 hours or so you have told us all how you will witness how Vila Verde is doing personally as you will be visiting Sal soon. Now you say that the whole island is on a downward spiral! Is that one of the things you look for when deciding your next holiday destination?

I see you are also back to having a go at the Italians. Is that because they managed to start their businesses and you didn't? You were very critical of them in the past, not at all bitter are you?

I also see that you have become an expert in infrastructure now! This on top of all your other areas of expertise, law, arbitration, building, business, forums etc etc. Perhaps they should have built all of the new hotels and apartments first and then done the roads a few years later?

It is a great pity that flights from gatwick dont
seem to reflect the fact it is the low season.

Have a look at flying TUI via Munich or another German airport, several have flights. With Easyjet/Ryanair makes it a good alternative. Transavia flights start up again in October, via Amsterdam, that's a cheaper way to go.

Going to fly from Amsterdam next year, no more driving from Manchester to Newcastle at 4.30 in the morning.

Dreaming of the sliced beef with peppercorn sauce and the tuna steak with mango sauce at Le Prive - yummy. How good is the food there, fantastic!

Mark, it's just my opinion of the mounting debt and the selling off of it's resources... I'm sure in the next few years you'll begin to see the effects that has and who'll end up paying the price for the borrowing...

For the tourist trade, I'm sure it will improve, but that too will cost more for the tourist with increased landing fees and visa prices... For Owners, well I'm not going to go into that as I'm sure everyone knows it's going to hurt !!!

Hacker, great to see your enjoying yourself. It was on an afternoon when we observed the quiet road. I'm sure there are times when its in use more often, but to be hones, did they need such a wide road ? or was it the case we got the money so lets spend it !!!

I was over beginning of June and was impressed with the steady progress over there . I look at it from my business point of view but I think all is good for the future of Cape Verde.
I do think that within 10 years time people who have bought will be well rewarded for their investments ..
The new road is perfect for Segway races !!
