If things had have gone the way everyone expected, you'd be paying higher resort fees... However, things has gone disastrously wrong for VV Owners and the resort ! Even you today would rather have your money back !!!

Surely it would have been better if you had bought on a resort that hadn't been finished, or your resort fees had gone up rather than down?

Buckie, I got back from my apartment on VV a few weeks ago, everything looked just as good as the previous January when I was there, the resort was much busier and my resort fees have also reduced for the second year running.

You did say a couple of years ago that our resort fees would double within 5 years, that isn't looking very likely is it?

Bit like your sheriff sorting out all those legal cases and arbitration being a guaranteed win for buyers, your predictions basically are rubbish!!

I note that owners on other developments were reporting VV being busier and Sal in general being much busier with many different nationalities visiting. That is as I have been reporting based on what I've seen and basically the true situation.

I realise it eats you up Buckie, but you need to get over it, sounds like Egypt has become your new in place anyway, hopefully it will take a while before that place leaves you behind once again leaving you bitter and twisted.

In 10 years vilaverde properties will still be worth at least what they are today Buckie, whereas your caravan will be worth **** all!!! good move

If your implying Tecnicil are to sell all their interest in VV, and a new buyer bought it, then I'm afraid resort fees would sill increase, big time, as if Tecnicil couldn't do it, with all it's subsidies it got from the Government, How would a new owner do it ?
(If all those Developments that have failed now, had the help Tecnicil have had, I'm sure they would not have failed today !)

Everything in Cape Verde is still up in the air, it's still far to risky to buy out there. All those promises just haven't materialised; and the help promised by Solicitors again just hasn't materialised either, even when you get to Court it still seems such a corrupt place !!!

Just make the most of it Hacker, don't give it too much thought, Just enjoy it !

Buckie, the other day you said it was a bad thing that resort fees have gone down, now you seem to indicate it will be a bad thing if they go up?

Is it simply not the fact, No ones allowed an opinion, as you put it if it differs from yours !

If fees go up, or down it doesn't bother me in the least, but one someone asks me specifically, I answer !

Is it not a bad thing that Tecnicil try and lure potential buyers into buying, those properties on their books, with low fees then presumably stick those same fees really high ?

Is it not a bad thing for owners if say a new owner took over and increased those same fees really high ?

You are just tying yourselves up in knots.

You said fees would double over 5 years as we would be paying Tecnicil's debt back for them.

Let me tell you my fees have gone from approx 900 euros, to 750 euros, to this year only being around 450 euros. Ok they will rise again next year, as there will be a correction I believe, but at around 700 euros per year which has been the average should be the 'norm' in the future and about right considering the many facilities, in fact good value in my opinion.

So, you now say this is being used to lure new people in to buying! What happened to the debt we were repaying Buckie, has it been put on hold or cancelled?

The fees are coming down because they were originally budgeted not actual. We also have Tecnicil's accounts looked at constantly, as we are a very organised group of owners. You of course say that we're wasting our time as we'll never get anywhere with Tecnicil, well Buckie, the level of mine and everyone else's resort fees suggest otherwise.

Perhaps you should have stumped up the money for your son and daughter to have completed. That way they too would now be benefitting. Sadly you were either unable or unwilling to complete, instead you used a forum to push others to risk their money to give your family a 'test' arbitration case which you said would be a guaranteed win.

So where are you now? Lost 2 huge deposits and see those who have completed enjoying ownership with low resort fees. You dare not go to arbitration as you now fear that you will also lose.

Tecnicil couldn't make the resort run or work with high resort fees, so they lower them.. yes you heard right, LOWER them, to make it work !!!

There is a very small group, mainly happy owners, or at least pretend to be, as they too are stuck there, so the only thing they can do is talk the place up ! But anyhow, you put it over as if they represent the majority of ALL owners... I wonder how many would love their money back if they could they would love to have their money back and have nothing to do with cape verde... That says a hell of a lot for what's gone on in CV !

The truth is, CV is in it for what it can too! All that infrastructure, work on the harbours, Airports, Utilities, you name it ... All this investment at some point will need repaying too ...

Sal has more flights arriving, more tourists arriving and new places are opening and thriving on the back of all of that. The quality of bars and restaurants on Sal is improving and places are packed night after night.

You and your family had a go, but failed, end of.

Start building up your relationships with the locals now in your new found destination of Egypt. Start telling them all about your wealth and impressing them, whilst you escape your miserable existence, that being your council flat in Newcastle.
