Ana hasn't replied to any of my emails to date so I will make that phone call. Maybe I can tie it in with the visit by Tecnicil to London ( If it materilises LOL ).

I also contacted Rosemary at Tecnicil to help with the initial mortgage enquiry but lately direct with Ana. Thanks for the info regarding the fees. I've seen no mention of it in previous emails.

As it were you were given 28 days to complete (4 months ago) but you were or had told A & M not to complete until utils were on. There on now so have you completed ? ....and what happened at the 28 days’ notice, was anything said about that ?

Personally I got my 'agreement in principle' from BES London a month or so ago. I then needed to open a BES C.V. bank account before they could submit all documentation to the BES Sal branch who I understand will now send me a definitive mortgage offer by post for me to sign and send back.

They will also send me details of the insurance cover I need before they can release funds to NDR.

I got the same 'notification of deeds' email on the 19th Jan as everyone else in phase 1 did giving me 14 days to complete. Bearing in mind how long it takes to get a response to emails from all quarters Tecnicil seem to understand the 14 day deadline is unworkable and seem happy as long as you are making genuine attempts to complete.

I speak to Ana at BES reasonably frequently and she says she is dealing with over 90 cases similar to mine i.e in the final stages (hopefully!)

I am placing my apartment into the resort management scheme and therefore am buying the 'premium package' furniture, but I don't really want to pay the final balance before I complete - is everyone getting hassled for final payment for the furniture?

Also has anyone got any kind of formal contract that their unit is going into the management rental scheme or is it just a verbal (albeit by email) agreement?

In response to your post.

I signed the paperwork for my BES account when I went to the London branch many months ago. I was told at that point that this account was ok for paying your mortgage out of, but would be no good for direct debits for the likes of your utilities, so I have also opened an account with BCN in Cape Verde for that purpose.

I arranged my insurance with Impar via Gibro, this is acceptable to BES and to Tecnicil, the only other company that BES will accept is Garantia, who Gibro can also deal with on your behalf. My insurance was 107 euros per year for buildings and contents.

I too speak to Ana from time to time and as you say, BES are currently dealing with a number of completions.

As for the furniture package, I was being pushed to pay for mine from December 2008, but eventually paid it in September 2009. I would not hang around too long on this as it may delay your delivery, or affect your eligibility in joining the rental scheme, so I'd keep an eye on that if I were you.

At the point of completion either you, or your lawyer (if you've given power of attorney) should sign the rental pool agreement with the view to getting that started asap.

On my situation, currently all of my paperwork is ready and we are awaiting notification from the notary as to which day they can arrange the completion for.

Hi Andrew I won't be going to any off the meeting I really can't see the point I want my money back and when Tecnicil get tired of the interest adding up they will pay me everything they owe me thats 200% of deposit plus interest. The meeting are just for those sitting on the fence Tecnicil will be trying to reel them back in.

Buckie sorry I have just seen your question to me. Have not been on for a bit as having problems at work for past 2 months.

Anyway once utilities were on we told solicitor to complete. we sent money mid jan. Mid Feb we chased, reply from A&M said something about tecnicil have to resolute mortgage then we can complete.

2 weeks later we chased again, reply from A&M, will go to notary this Friday to sign then is complete.

Now 2 weeks later still no news. getting a bit annoyed now.

we need to ocmplete so we can then deal with MRI.

Can anyone tell me how long their completion took. I did not get anything after my 28 days as I emailed tozer and kept him informed of what was going on.

I'll keep you informed. Let me know how long others took if anyone can please.

Hi Pancake,

It took my solicitor approximately 6 weeks, they had the money long before that, but in fairness they were waitng for the ultilities to be connected to site. So i have calculated the time from January 5th which is when he would have started the ball rolling.

Why ? do they deliver in the dead of night....I'm sure Iain could give you a letter saying electric and all services are on to get your furniture, after all it's on the blog too.....
