30/04/08 - Enacol receives more than 300 applications for general director post PDF Print E-mail

The international bid for the selection of fuel company Enacol’s new general director has already garnered more than 300 applications, according to outgoing general director Luís Pitorro Soares, who has expressed satisfaction with the reaction, which, in his understanding, shows that Enacol is an attractive company.

Luís Soares told A Semana Online that he communicated his decision not to renew his contract, whose term ends in May, to Enacol’s administrative council in January. The company immediately launched an international bid to choose a new general director.

“I was pleasantly surprised with the response to the bid. This means that today Enacol is a very attractive company. And this is reason for pride for me and for my staff, considering that when we took the reins of the company, it was debilitated and held major debts, particularly with its primary shareholders. The amount of the debt approached 14 million euros and today is insignificant, some 700,000 euros,” he explains.

Until the new general director of Enacol takes over the company’s directorship, according to Luís Pitorro Soares, the company will be administered by a Management Commission. Meanwhile, the company’s general assembly, which was initially scheduled to take place at the end of April and which is expected to seal the understanding reached by the main shareholders, has been postponed once again, this time until May or June.
