| 29/01/07 - TAP considers offering nine flights a week to Sal |
Portuguese airline TAP is considering increasing the number of flights it offers from Portuguese capital Lisbon to the island of Sal every week from seven to nine. The information was announced by Victor Fidalgo, the president of Cape Verdean tourism and investment promotion agency Cabo Verde Investimentos, to Portuguese site PressTur during the Lisbon Tourism Exchange, the tourism industry’s largest trade fair in the European country.
Victor Fidalgo said that the increase in the number of TAP’s flights to Cape Verde was a consequence of the “investments the country is making in accessibility.” “This growth accompanies the dynamic of the Cape Verde’s transformation process and includes new airports, new ports of entry for tourists into the country. The concentration of entries that began with Sal is becoming diluted, and in a few years we’ll have various points of entry for investments and tourists in Cape Verde,” he stressed. In addition to Amílcar Cabral International Airport on Sal and Praia International Airport in Cape Verde’s capital, the country should have two more international airports, on the islands of Boa Vista and São Vicente, by the end of this year.
