27/11/07 - Millennium Challenge Account analyzes private sector development project PDF Print E-mail

The consultation council of the Millennium Challenge Account - Cape Verde (MCA-CV) will meet today to analyze the plans of action selected within the Framework of the Investment Mobilization Partnership, with a special emphasis to be given to the private sector.

The overseer of the MCA-CV’s Private Sector Development Project, Aguinaldo Marçal, will present the consultation council with the proposals elaborated by the International Financial Society, elected by the project’s stakeholders and validated by a review commission.

Also during this eighth meeting of the consultation council, the resident director of the Millennium Challenge Account - Cape Verde, Stahis Panagides, will inform the council’s members of the new organizational structure of the Millennium Challenge Corporation, the company that oversees the US government’s MCA program.

The consultation council is the body that represents the beneficiaries of the MCA-CV program, namely the sectors of micro-finance, tourism, transportation and business, as well as regional partner commissions. It is presided over by the coordinator of the Ministry of Finance and Public Administration’s Study Bureau, Sandro de Brito.
