26/08/06 - Surf shop opens in São Vicente

The island of São Vicente now has a surf shop. The store, Cape Verde’s second, is owned by French businessman Pascal Luiggi. Baptized with the name “Pura Vida,” the surf shop has been open for a month in the Columbinho commercial center in downtown Mindelo. The store sells clothing, sunscreen, bikinis, flip-flops, surfboard wax, backpacks and, of course, surf and bodyboard materials.

In addition to carrying major international brands, Pascal Luiggi, who also runs a store on the island of Sal, called Quick Silver, has created his own line of T-shirts with images promoting the seas of Cape Verde.
