24/10/07 - Cape Verde’s Praia Port processes over 337,000 tons of goods in first half of 2007 PDF Print E-mail

The port of Praia processed 337,000 tons of cargo and over 12,500 containers in the first half of the year, according to Cape Verdean news agency Inforpress.

According to Inforpress, in the period the amount of cargo saw “a positive variation” with overall growth of 11 percent as compared with the year-ago period.

Coastwise shipping saw a decrease of 2.3 percent and its weighting in the total fell from 30 percent to 26 percent, while long-haul traffic saw a rise of 16 percent, representing 74 percent of the total.
