Luís Silva, the administrator of the Praia Sea Port Project for the Millennium Challenge Account - Cape Verde, will visit Paris, France between today and January 27 to work with French engineering corporation BCEOM, which will present to him the detailed studies it has elaborated on the sea-breaker to be built as a part of the Praia Sea Port Modernization and Expansion Project.

During his mission, Luís Silva will also follow the laboratory tests that will allow for the finalization of the detailed studies to precede the international bid aimed at selecting a company to carry out construction work.

According to the Millennium Challenge Account website, BCEOM was contracted by Millennium Challenge Account - Cape Verde in February 2007 to carry out geotechnic and environmental studies on the cargo terminal, the access road, the sea-breaker and the improvement of the number 2 dock at the port. These studies will allow for the beginning of work on phase 1 of the port’s modernization and expansion project.
