ImagePortuguese bank Caixa Central Agrícola is operating in Cape Verde as one of the nine off-shore banks working in the archipelago’s market.  Operating in the country since February, the Caixa Central Agrícola Cabo Verde (CCA Cabo Verde) has a social capital of 300 million escudos and soon intends to open an asset management corporation. The bank’s main representative in Praia, Portuguese economist José Ramos, who has worked for several years in Cape Verde as, among other things, an advisor at Banco Comercial do Atlântico and cement company CVC.

CCA Cabo Verde’s headquarters in located on Cidade de Lisboa avenue. In Portugal, the Caixa Central Agrícola has some 700 branches. In Cape Verde, the international financial institution intends to operate in the area of infrastructures, with a special focus on the agricultural realm.

In addition to CCA Cabo Verde, eight other international financial institutions are operating in Cape Verde: Banco Insular, Banco Sul Atlântico, Banco Fiduciário Internacional, Montepio Geral Cabo Verde, BPN Cabo Verde, Banco International Trading, Banco Internacional de Investimentos and Banco Espírito Santo. All are Portuguese-based institutions, with the exception of Angola’s Banco Sul Atlântico.
