Cape Verde is being represented at the Lisbon Tourism Exchange, which is taking place in the Portuguese capital until January 22. Following the Lisbon fair, Cape Verde will be present at the Madrid Tourism Fair, which will run from January 25 to 29. The country’s participation in these events is supported by TACV Cabo Verde Airlines and is budgeted at more than 12 million escudos, 80% of which is being financed by businesses operating in the tourist sector.

According to a press release from Cape Verdean investment and tourist promotion agency Cabo Verde Investimentos (CI), the country’s presence at the Lisbon fair is indispensable, considering the importance of the Portuguese market, which ranks second on the list of countries sending the greatest numbers of tourists to Cape Verde.

CI also highlights the importance of the opening of Praia International Airport, which has facilitated access to tourist “products” from the islands of Santiago, Fogo, Brava and Maio, including eco-tourism, religious and rural tourism, business traveling, etc.

In addition to Lisbon and Madrid, Cape Verde will also be represented at the Milan Tourism Fair, the Berlin Tourism Fair, the Deauville Top Resa and the London World Tourism Market.

The Cape Verdean delegation traveling to the fairs is made up oif representatives from the hotels Morabeza, Mindelhotel and Atlântico, travel agencies Cabetur, Orbitur, Planeta and Island Service Incoming, and tourist village Murdeira.
