ImageThe president of Portugal’s Court of Accounts, Guilherme D’Oliveira Martins, will visit Praia between July 3 and 6 on invitation from his Cape Verdean homologue, José Carlos Delgado, with whom he will sign a cooperation protocol. Activities related to the elaboration of General State Accounts reports and audits carried out with the assistance of Portugal’s Court of Accounts are among the objectives of the cooperation accord D’Oliveira and Delgado will sign in Praia.

The protocol, according to information gathered by A Semana Online, is aimed mainly at “formalizing a technical and cultural cooperation program in the area of the control and surveillance of the use of public resources,” and will essentially serve to “strengthen the good relations that already exist” between the two institutions.

Within the framework of these relations, the Portuguese Court of Accounts contributed to the elaboration of Cape Verde’s 1998 and 1999 General State Account reports, and will also lend logistic support to the Cape Verdean Court of Accounts throughout the first half of July in its audit of the Cape Verdean embassy in Lisbon.
