The Águas de Cabo Verde factory located in Trindade on Santiago Island, began operating Monday initially producing cola soft drinks and later orange and lemon juices, the company said Tuesday. The factory, which represents an investment of around US$4.7 million, also plans to produce flavored waters. The concentrates used in producing the soft drinks are supplied b y German company Döhler. The Arab Bank for Economic Development of Africa (BADEA) providing financing of US$1.75 million to build the factory, which is expected to have a bottling capacity of 36,000 liters per day.The loan, which will not begin to be repaid for seven years, has a 28 year maturity.
