The Spanish Institute of Foreign Commerce (ICEX) and the Business Development Center are organizing a Business Partnership Meeting between Spain and West Africa, prepared by the Spanish government, as a response to the African reality of the 21st century.

The meeting will take place at the congress hall of the Hotel President Meridien in Senegalese capital Dakar on November 22 and 23, and is intended to be a platform for business meetings with opportunities for instituting technical, commercial and business partnership accords, concentrated in the following economic sectors: construction and infrastructures, agro-industry and fishing, information and communication technology and tourism.

The Windward Islands Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Agriculture and Services, as the Business Development Center’s official representative in Cape Verde, is promoting a series of activities aimed at encouraging participation in the meeting. More information may be found at the Chamber of Commerce’s site, www.cciasb.org.

Spain is currently the world’s 8th largest economy and has one of the European Union’s fastest economic growth rates (3.9% in 2006).
