08/05/08 - Delegation from Brazilian state of Pernambuco visits Praia to discuss flight route PDF Print E-mail

A mission from Empetur, the entity responsible for promoting tourism in the northeastern Brazilian state of Pernambuco, is in Praia in order to make preparations for the flight that will link the state’s capital, Recife, to Cape Verde and Senegal beginning in September.

Empetur president José Ricardo Diniz and new flight manager Carlos Carneiro arrived yesterday, May 7, in Praia on a recognizance mission in order to prepare for the start of the weekly flight that will link Pernambuco to Cape Verde and Senegal, as of September.

During the four-day visit, the delegation is also scheduled to meet with various Senegalese and Cape Verdean officials, tourist-sector business representatives and the Senegalese travel agency association, in addition to TACV Cabo Verde Airlines, which will operate the flight.

Among the details to be finalized during this trip is the definition of the flight path for the Recife-Dakar route - so far, it has not been decided if the flight will stop at Praia International Airport or Sal’s Amílcar Cabral International Airport.
