Beginning this winter, the island of Sal will be linked to British capital London via a charter flight organized by the travel agency Holiday Options.  The London-Sal-London flights will begin only after the summer season and will take place once a week, according to Holiday Options representative Romira Carneiro.

RUMOUR TO BE CONFIRMED:  We have heard news that there may also be another company planning flights from Gatwick to Sal as early as July.  We will keep you posted.......

“Cape Verde has become popular in the United Kingdom,” guaranteed Carneiro. The charter flight will use a plane with a 250-passenger capacity.

TACV Cabo Verde Airlines in also pondering the opening of a direct connection between Cape Verde and the United Kingdom, according to Carneiro.

This year, according to a survey carried out in England, Cape Verde and Bulgaria stood at the top of a list of preferred destinations for British tourists.
