Cape Verde is the second-largest receptor of investments from Spain’s Canary Islands, trailing only Morocco. The information was announced during a series of business conferences aimed at debating business opportunities in Cape Verde currently taking place in the Spanish autonomous region and being promoted by the Canary Islands Chamber of Commerce. According to the Canary Islands Chamber of Commerce, Cape Verde is currently the second-largest receptor of investments from the Spanish archipelago. Morocco continues to be the preferred destination for Canarian investors. There are currently more than 30 Canary Islands-based companies established in Cape Verde, generating some 600 job posts. Canarian investments have been channeled mainly in to the service, tourism and construction sectors. A delegation from Cabo Verde Investimentos, Cape Verde’s tourism and investment promotion agency, is participating in the series of conferences.
