Charter Fishing

Santa Maria is a unique fishing spot where you can fish a few miles offshore in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean, the most common catches tend to be Wahoo, yellow-fin tuna, sail fish, blue marlin, amberjack and sharks. At the Fishing Center we organise daily (full or half day) big game, trolling, drifting and bottom fishing trips for groups and/or individuals. The trips are taken by expert skippers and fishermen with extensive local knowledge. Our fleet  onsists of three boats measuring 38ft, 29ft and 20ft respectively. These three boats are used for big game and trolling and we have two other boats which are used for bottom fishing and drifting. All boats are fitted with GPS, sonar, VHF and necessary safety equipment. Specific fishing rods and reels are used for each different type of fishing and all equipment and baits (natural and/or artificial) are included in the price so that you have the best chance of catching something big!!!

Quad Fishing

Quad fishing is a unique type of fishing trip where we drive powerful quad bikes to some of the most beautiful fishing spots on the island. The southern part of Sal has long stunning beaches which create the perfect backdrop for this type of excursion. The five hour trips cater for both experts and beginners so it doesn’t matter if you’ve never held a rod before, it’ll still be a great experience. Departing in the evening, we take the quads up the coast along sandy tracks and over dunes whilst admiring the beautiful sunset over the Atlantic The center provides all the necessary equipment (all types of bait, carbon rods and reels) to enable you to catch a whole range of fish including white sea bream, striped sea bream, pigsnout grunt, blue runner, lack jack, long-fin pompano and rays. When it gets dark we rig heavy tackle because the sharks are always ready for a good struggle.

Rock Fishing

Rock fishing is another exciting type of fishing that is an absolute must! Usually taking place in the early morning, a guide will take you by quad bike or off-road vehicle to the best rock platforms where you will learn to use different fishing techniques and equipment to catch a whole range of fish.
